London, mother of Hussle’s young son, Kross, who turns 4 this month, has continued to remember the rapper by speaking out about the trauma of gun violence in the 16 months since his death.

Celebrities and fans also flooded Twitter on Saturday to pay tribute to the “Victory Lap” artist, whose premature death devastated the music industry and fans.

Rapper Rick Ross tweeted in Hussle’s honor Saturday, simply writing “Marathon continues” and “Nipsey Hussle,” adding a dove emoji.

Jay-Z’s Roc Nation entertainment company wished Hussle a happy birthday.

“Happy Birthday to the great Nipsey Hussle who continues to inspire us everyday. ‘The best thing you can do for a person is to inspire them. That’s the best currency you can offer: inspiration.’ – Nipsey Hussle,” the tweet read.

The sports world also joined in on remembering Hussle. The Los Angeles Sparks wished the late rapper a happy birthday and Iman Marshall, a cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens wrote: “You gave hope to the hopeless. You stuck to the script and never quit. You stayed real and spoke with conviction that inspired many. The Tupac of my generation. Happy Birthday Nip.”

O’Shea Jackson Jr., Ice Cube’s son and “Just Mercy” actor, wrote about Hussle’s influence and also mentioned the late Kobe Bryant, who died in January.

“Happy birthday to the man. Nipsey Hussle. I just hit the #TMC yesterday and of course it’s yo birthday the next. Yo influence has entered the people’s veins so tough back at home and across the world. We miss you Nip. Tell Kobe I said Wasup for me. His day comin soon,” Jackson tweeted alongside a photo of the rapper.

Fans also wrote about how the multi-faceted rapper influenced their lives.

“While I didn’t get to know Nipsey personally, I had small encounters that I’ll always remember. His presence was so strong, it was intimidating. I thought I had more time to chop it up with him cause we had so many mutual friends and he wasn’t hard to find,” tweeted @iesha_irene.

User @BarryHefner wrote: “Nipsey Hussle your knowledge, hustle, self awareness, & voice for your community is truly missed. Happy C-Day. May your legacy continue to live on.”

Snoop Dogg honored his late friend Friday by releasing a soulful track titled “Nipsey Blue,” where he diverts from his rapping style to sing over Dorothy Moore’s 1976 version of “Misty Blue.”

In “Nipsey Blue,” Snoop Dogg sings alongside Moore and replaces the original lyrics like “Oh baby” and “Oh honey” with “Homie” and changes “Misty Blue” to “Nipsey Blue.”

The rapper turns “Misty Blue” into a commemorative song, mourning the “things we used to do” and not being able to forget Hussle.

Fans Pay Tribute To Nipsey Hussle To Celebrate Late Rapper’s 35th Birthday

Saturday, August 15th would have been Nipsey Hussle’s 35th birthday.

(AllHipHop News) Saturday, August 15th would have been Nipsey Hussle’s 35th birthday.

As the world remembers the prolific emcee and his tragic demise, Nip Day salutes have popped up all across social media.

The most endearing tribute came from Hussle’s O.G., Snoop Dogg, who took it a step further than anyone else. He created a song entitled “Nipsey Blue,” a joint that remixed Dorothy Moore’s soulful, “Misty Blue” with heartfelt lyrics about the Crenshaw fallen soldier.

In the video for Snoop’s tribute video, the Crip pops off the visual in a cold blue leather jacket single-waltzing to “Do You Still Love Me” by Meli’sa Morgan.

Mack talking, as the 80’s slow jam mellows out in the air, “Do you still love me… love me while I am here.”

He says to whoever is there recording that Nip liked to see his “O.G. pull up stylish like this.”

The next level of the video has a touching black and white powwow between Nip and Snoop, where the old head shares how proud he is of the way that the younger Crip defined his own lane.

This scene bleeds from the two dapping each other up into Bill Withers’ singing “Memories Are the Way” and a collage of pictures and videos that celebrate Hip-Hop’s most notable “Marathon runner.”

Right, when you think that your heartstrings could not be tugged any harder — the “Gin and Juice” rapper is riding in his whip reminiscing and singing the song that was once meant for a lover that has gone away and instead paying tribute to a dead homie, completely changing the meaning and creating a beautiful ode to a comrade.

Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom, was killed on March 31, 2019, after he was shot near his clothing store (the Marathon Clothing Company) in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The late rapper, entrepreneur and community activist — who posthumously won the 2020 Grammy award for both best rap/sung performance and best rap performance — was 33 years old at the time of his murder.

In June, his girlfriend, actress London opened up to Jada Pinkett Smith on an episode of Red Table Talk about how his death has impacted her and her sons, Kameron Samuel Ari, 10½, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Lil Wayne, and Kross Ermias, 3½, whom she had with Hussle.

“What I instill in them is more about the police,” London said of teaching her sons about violence. “How to handle yourself when you get pulled over. That’s more of my education, protecting them being black men in America.”

On the first anniversary of Hussle’s death, London said in part in an emotional Instagram post: “Gods Grace and Mercy have carried me this far. … I stand strong because of you. Because I know you wouldn’t have it any other way. Because I recall every late night conversation we had about resilience and fear. Because you were my greatest teacher and because you are still with us, in spirit.”

“With every breath I take I honor you,” the actress went on in her caption at the time. “I carry this pain with purpose. I promise I will make you proud. I promise to apply everything you taught me. In life and in death. Ermias Asghedom. There will never be another.”

LeBron James Pays Tribute To Nipsey Hussle On What Would’ve Been His 35th Birthday

LeBron James paid tribute to Nipsey Hussle on what would’ve been his 35th birthday on Saturday.

“Bumping Nip All Day Long/Night!! Happy G-Day! I know you gone have one helluva shindig in Paradise today!” James tweeted Saturday.

Hussle died on March 31, 2019, after being gunned down in front of Marathon Clothing, a store he owned in the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles.

In a sit-down interview with CBS2 in April of 2019, James talked about how much Hussle meant to Los Angeles.

“When you look at a guy who believed in what he believed in, talked about how he wanted to give back to his own community, actually gave back to his community, and actually stayed in his community, it’s not many who’s done that,” James said.

Hussle, who was born Ermias Asghedom, was nominated for best rap album for “Victory Lap” at the Grammys in 2019.

He was raised in South Los Angeles and was known for trying to revitalize the community by opening businesses in the area and devoting his time and money to helping people. According to the Los Angeles Times, he bought shoes for elementary school children in Hyde Park, paid for playground upgrades, gave jobs to neighbors and funded funerals for people killed by gun violence.

The day after Hussle was killed, he was scheduled to meet with LAPD Chief Michel Moore and Police Commissioner Steve Soboroff to discuss ways he could help end gun violence.
